Southampton madness.

Sorry guys. If someone had read or follow this blog, I was away for a super long time. As you all know, FM12 had came out and me being a poor guy, decided on playing on with the previous version, FM11. After leading Manchester United and Gombak United, I decided on playing Southampton, a league 1 team in the beginning of the season of FM11. Quick Sim to two years later, Southampton is now a premier league team and it is defying its odds to be placed SIXTH, with a chance of entering the Europa League with the league finish. No screen-shots this time, but I promise myself and you all that it will be there in the next post! Promise?

Transfers window closure

Ya. I am back to inform you about the closure of the transfer of the various european countries. Inter and Roma and Juventus making some big signings before the transfer windows slammed shut. Roma bought Pjanic, Gago and Kjaer on loan, Elia is off the Juventus and Inter purchasing world cup golden ball player, Diego Forlan and loaning Mauro Zarate from Lazio. Of cos the England one will soon be shut, but not so soon, few more hours? Good for Arsenal, who is spending like mad after that humiliation from Man Utd. Looks that the 8-2 match really knock Wenger hard on the head and he might have realises that he needed some experience in the team, espiecially at the back. Interesting move, Wenger. You have bought Park Chu Young and Andre Santos from AS Monaco and Fenerbahce respectively and it seems good business for you. However, the new signings need TIME to settle and it still remains to see whether Arsenal can continue to challenge for the place for the champions league placing. Man City and Chelsea looks like not buying like Arsenal in the last day, maybe they think that their squad is good enough or maybe the owners might have stopped Villa-Boas and Mancini from buying players as they have throw too much money on players? lol. I know that is impossible. Spurs have bought Scott Parker to White Hart Lane. It does not come as a surprise to me as Redknapp realises a need to have a player to protect the back four, yet coming foward to score goals and also to make decisive passes. But Parker's arrival had also mean that Wilson Palacios' Spurs career is effectively over, with a move to Stoke City the most possible destination. Ok, before I keep going on and on, I better find a place to stop, before I keep typing... ... see ya!

What's wrong with this football world?

Hi, all. As you all have known, the transfer window is going to close in a couple of days and I am going to review the transfers that have happened in the premier league. Arsenal is a team of no hope. What do I mean than? As you all had seen, Arsenal had sold their priced assets to other club, Barcelona and Man City in particular. Nasri, Fabregas, Clinchy had all been sold from Arsenal and what have Wenger purchased? Chamberlain from a promoted championship team? Gervinho, a winger that got sent off as he slap Barton in the face? Jenkinson of charlton who we never heard before? What is this world of football all about? lol. The city of Manchester looks more better with the Blue of Manchester really signalled their intent of challenging the title with the purchase of Clinchy, Nasri and Aguero. The Red of manchester is not going to lose out to the blues, however. They bought David De Gea to replace the retired Edwin Van Der Sar and bought in future England star, Phil Jones and winger Ashley Young. All three of them however, compared to Man City, was purchases to strengthen their squad, not like the blues who throw money just to make themselves a big 'team'. Liverpool also placed their emphathis on youngsters this season, purchasing Jordan Henderson. Good challenge liverpool. But u will have to wait for a year or two. lol

Long time no post

Sorry, guys. I had not been posting for the last 2 months due to me being busy and also another thing. I was playing Football Manager 2011 and it was interesting and ADDICTIVE. Ya, all of u would say that we have PES 2011 or FIFA 11, but FM 11 is one of the games that can allow you to satisy yr crave to be the best manager in your favourite team. In one of the games I played Gombak United( Singapore), a team who did not even won the S-league in their whole History. So I decided to make them into the most sucessful team in Singpapore in a year by winning the S-league. Of cos, I succeded in my task. Futhermore, I got prove to show to u all.
Of cos, the journey also did not end here. I also became the first team in Singapore's History to advance through the group stages of the Asian Champions League. Here are the prove.

11 pts, IMPRESSIVE enough? I won Shandong twice, 3-1 at home and 3-2 away. I won Hachioji Tigre 2-0 at home and draw 2-2 away. Although I lost to Ulsan 3-4 at home and draw 1-1 at home , Gombak United still managed to qualiy for the next stages, although I lost to Jeonbuk 3-1. Enough of all the Gombak United talk. The transfer window is soon to be opened in Europe. Hope for interesting transfers to catch my eyes. But for now, see ya!

Title Run-In

The domestic season at Europe is going to and end. Let's talk about the La Liga first. Barca is nearly confirmed the champions of La Liga for the third year running it is not surprising, because Real Madrid is behind Barcelona for a whole eight points. Now for the English Premier League. Man Utd is running away with the title with them leading six points ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal if they can win their match later. I reckon that with the traditional  title winning mentality of the Red Devils, they would win the english title for the record 19th time. The German Bundesliga is also the same situation as the La Liga in Spain. Dortmund is also running away with the title with only Leverkusen having a slim hope of overtaking them to the title. Ligue 1 produced one of the most close title race of all time.Defending champions, Marseille, Lyon, and Lille are all fighting for the title with only one point seperating Marseille and Lille. The holland eredivisie also had a close title close in as Twente and PSV attempted to fight it out for the most converted domestic title in Holland. Hence, with the end of the european league coming to an end, expect more and more interesting and exciting football matches coming.

S-league Prediction Part 2

Today, I will be making the predictions for the next 6 teams for the S-league teams.

Tampines Rovers:
The Stags is on another quest for the S-league title since 2006 and judging from the form they are in, it will be a tight race to the end as their team quality and their squad depth is similar to Home United. Prediction: Runner-up

Etoile FC:
The stars had nearly changed their whole squad during the off season and their inconsistent form had cost them dear and might struggle to raise their sform in the first third of the season. But with their quality, third is possible. Prediction: 3rd place

Geylang United:
The eagles had been off to one of their poorest start of the season, winning only one out of the five matches available. With a suspension and a injury crisis, it would be diffricult to see the eagles to obtain a top-half finish. Prediction: 10th place

Courts Young Lions:
Young Lions had been inconsistent as their players are young. Despite impressing me with a 3-2 win over Geylang United, they had been toothless in their goalless draw with Tanjong Pagar United. the toothless attack will cost them dear. Prediction: 9th place

SAFFC:
The Warriors had been impressing me with their attack this season, but they will continue to struggle as they still do not have the ability to beat the teams of Home United and Tampines Rovers. Poor finish like last season. Prediction: 5th place

Hougang United:
The main core of the players from the previously named Sengkang Punggol was retained and coupled with new signings the cheetahs might be able to improve on their league position, with the likes of Webb and Diallo. Prediction: 8th place

S league review

It is 6 matches into the new Singapore league season and from wat I observed from the first six matches of the season, I am going to make a bold prediction of the league positions of the S league teams. With six teams in this post.

Albirex Niigata(Singapore):
They look good at times, thrashing the Courts Young Lions and Tanjong Pagar United 5-0, but they still look weak in front of the title challengers like Home United. Enough quality to make a mid-table finish. Prediction: 6th place

Balestier Khalsa:
The tigers had been strong in the first four matches, holding two of the top three teams last seasons to a draw. However, they looked inconsistent to me and coupled with some giant killing acts, they can achieve more than last season. Prediction: 7th place

Woodlands Wellington:
The rams had not SCORED a SINGLE goal in six match, Somemore, they even failed to score against Tanjong Pagar United, a team who conceeded 20 goals. If the goal drought continues for Woodlands, they might end up in bottom place. Prediction: 11th place

Tanjong Pagar United:
The jaguars was admitted into the S-league with barely two weeks to the start of the season, and hence they had to settle for a bunch of young players. Despite getting thrashed by the other teams, they are improving in every match. Better team next season due to the inexpierence of the team. Prediction: Last Place

Gombak United:
The bulls was solid last season and as expected of the previous seasons, if they can perform giant killing acts and achieve wins against weaker sides, a higher league finsih awaits them. Prediction: 4th position.

Home United:
The red-hot favourites this season and it was proven as they lead the S-league table after 6 matches. With outstanding korean imports like Kim Dae Eui and bunch of experienced Singapore internationals, they can be champions. Prediction: Champions

Part 2 of the S-league prediction will be posted lastest by 2/4/2011.

S-league

The S-league had started and the first few match was highly anticipated as fans wanted to see whether the teams in the S-league can prove that Singaporean Football is not hopeless after all. SAFFC started their season well against the Courts Young Lions, winning 2-0. It proves that they are ready to regain the title from Etoile. Hougang United, one of the top six teams, won 1-0 at Woodlands Wellington. But the score does not reflect the intensity of the game. Seven Yellow Card, one red card and one penalty. LOL. Balestier Khalsa made a good start. Drawing with Home United 1-1. Home, being title favorites, lose two points, compared to Balestier, who considered themselves earning one point. Albirex and Tanjong Pagar are playing each other tonight, and Gombak's match against Tampines had been changed to Jurong West Stadium without live telecast.
